Earlier this year was just a carryover of what happened last fall, and it was terrible. We went probably six weeks without making one sale. Same amount of advertising, same amount of people on site, almost the same amount of traffic as we had in the heyday, and no sales. People were absolutely afraid of losing their jobs, of everything. People have become a little more confident that the economy is not going to fall apart.

Most developers wouldn’t envy One Museum Park West’s timing. In the midst of the worst recession in recent memory, The Enterprise Companies’ new luxury tower hasn’t even reached its full height. But with its location along Grant Park’s southern border and its guaranteed views of Lake Michigan and back toward the downtown cityscape, the 53-story high-rise has the enviable position of remaining desirable in even the sourest of markets.
