Two APEX renovators trained in lead paint identification process

APEX Exteriors, South Elgin, IllinoisUpcoming legislation will require residential restoration companies to inform clients about the presence and dangers of lead-based paint in their homes. Only certified renovators who have completed EPA lead safety certification courses will be able to receive permits for new window installations and other home repairs.

To comply with these new regulations, Roger Greenhagel and Larry Buckley of South Elgin-baed APEX Exteriors recently completed the lead safety certification process. "That means we know what to look for and how to make homeowners aware, especially for the safety of their kids," Greenhagel says. "The course teaches you how to take the right precautions. The problem is the dust caused when you disturb the lead paint -- we can identify those dangers while making an estimate, and we know how to make area safe once work begins."

APEX specializes in the installation and repair of roofing, gutters, soffit, fascia, siding, windows, doors, and cultured stone. For more information about the company's services, call Roger Greenhagel at 847-366-2881. You can also get a free quote request online.
